Women’s abilities to act in day-to-day emergencies and those under exceptional circumstances are strengthened through cooperation and monitoring of their interests.
In 1997, a group of Finnish organisations involved in national defence and security work established a new organisation, the Women’s National Emergency Preparedness Association, to reach an important common goal.
The aim of the organisation is to ensure that Finnish women have, and continue to have, an opportunity to participate in all tasks related to national defence and to maintain and improve their skills in this field.
Women work together to promote security in everyday life and to support Finnish families and communities in being prepared. Women’s interest in and knowledge about everyday security is increased through training and information.
