In 1997, a group of Finnish organisations involved in national defence and security work established a new organisation, the Women’s National Emergency Preparedness Association, to reach an important common goal.
The aim of the organisation is to ensure that Finnish women have, and continue to have, safety skills needed in everyday life and emergency situations. And an opportunity to participate in all tasks related to national defence.
Women work together to promote safety in everyday life and to support Finnish families and communities in being prepared. Women’s skills and knowledge about everyday security is increased through providing information and training.
